Baby Friendly Neonatal Care Conference and Workshop
Uppsala, Sweden, 14-16 September 2011

Aim
The aim of this conference and workshop is to present and discuss evidence for expansion of the WHO/UNICEF 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding for neonatal intensive and intermediate care, including care of late preterm infants in postnatal units. This initiative has been taken by a Nordic expert group in response to the document “Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Revised, Updated and Expanded for Integrated Care”, UNICEF/WHO 2009.

Target groups for the conference and workshop, which will be held in English, are persons involved in clinical work, education, administration and research in maternal and child health care, perinatal, neonatal, and pediatric care – irrespective of profession: physician, midwife, nurse, auxiliary/practical nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, medical and health care administrator, lay peer counsellor, and social worker
